Personality Disorders
Personality Disorders refer to a cluster of symptoms that together cause distress and impact functioning. A common one is Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) which affects 2-6% of Australians, and hallmarked by difficulties in emotional regulation. There is no one single cause for personality disorders including BPD, and often the cluster of symptoms that are experienced by people with personality disorders are attempts to cope with the challenges that are associated with the diagnoses (e.g. anxiety, depression, difficult interpersonal relationships). Personality Disorders can be managed and treated through various therapies, however often we find that there is trauma that underlies the experience and needs to be healed. At Adaptive Counselling and Psychology can support to both manage symptoms and heal traumas associated with personality disorders. Get in touch with us to find out more.
