Mental Health Occupational Therapy
What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapy is used to increase independence, functioning and autonomy in a person’s life. Occupational therapists use assessments and practical interventions to help people achieve their goals and improve functioning in areas they may have previously struggled. The term ‘occupation’ isn’t just used for working, it includes things such as domestic activities, personal care, community engagement or anything that is meaningful to the individual. Occupational therapists also place heavy emphasis on a person’s environment and help address concerns or issues. Still have questions?
