Mental Health Recovery Coaching

A mental health recovery coach is a form of support that caters towards participants that have a psychosocial disability and experience mental health challenges. Using a person-centred approach, recovery coaches aim to provide agency and encourage decision making in their clients lives, and improve overall functioning. They can help with linkages to services, navigating the NDIS, and help individuals identify and overcome barriers to meaningful engagement in their lives.

What does a Mental Health Recovery Coach Do?

Recovery plans are created by coaches working collaboratively and holistically with individuals and their support network. This may include families, friends, carers and other services. Through empowering their participants, our recovery coaches will aid in the implementation of skills that allow individuals to build independence in their daily life functioning. Each recovery plan will be tailored to the participant to meet their unique needs.

What is the difference between support coordinators and mental health recovery coaches?

Every support service serves a different function. Support coordinators aim to utilise a participants NDIS plan to get the most appropriate support allowed within their plan. A recovery coach has a specific understanding in mental health conditions and provides support in the recovery of them. Recovery coaching plans will have a unique set of goals that will create effective strategies to encourage independence, decision making and an overall more fulfilling life.
