Anger

Anger is a normal, and helpful human emotion that often gets confused with the less helpful behaviour of aggression. Anger as an emotion is a warning sign and tells us that something is not right. It encourages us to re-assert our boundaries so that we protect ourselves against threat. Anger often protects against more painful emotions such as sadness, or shame, and it is these that aggressive behaviours are in response to.
